Learn Engage Connect Young Parents Education Program

The FMPLLEN is proud to be the lead partner for The Learn Engage Connect Young Parents Education Program, a valuable initiative that supports young parents in their educational journey while providing essential community connections and services. By focusing on social connectedness, empowerment and integrated early childhood education, this program offers a holistic approach to support young parents and their children. Through its principles and comprehensive support system, Learn Engage Connect aims to empower young parents, foster their educational growth, and enhance their overall wellbeing.

Young parents are enrolled at the Foundation Learning Centre in Frankston our facilitation partner. The program ensures that children can be present in the classroom, with the support of a Family Support Worker and an Early Childhood Educator. This arrangement allows young parents to continue their education while ensuring their children receive appropriate care & support.

The Learn Engage Connect Young Parents Education Program is guided by several key principles:

Engaging young parents in further education: Recognising the importance of education in empowering young parents and helping them build a better future for themselves and their children.

Supporting social connectedness & empowerment: Creating a supportive and inclusive environment where young parents can connect with others facing similar challenges. By fostering a sense of empowerment, the program helps young parents build confidence and resilience.

Facilitating links to community and support services: Recognizing the importance of community support, the program helps young parents access the necessary resources and services they may require. This includes connecting them with local community organizations and support networks.

Integrated early childhood education opportunity: Acknowledging the significance of early childhood education and providing an integrated approach. Through the Abecedarian method, activities are designed for babies and toddlers attending the program, ensuring their development and growth are supported.

Structured parenting support: Each parent & child receive tailored parenting support, ensuring that both the parent and child's needs are met. This support includes guidance, resources and assistance in navigating the challenges of parenting.
