VCAL Cook Off
Each year FMPLLEN, in partnership with the Peninsula VCAL Association (PVA) and local schools, holds the VCAL Cook Off. VCAL students, with the mentorship of local chefs, compete in a commercial kitchen using local seasonal produce to create unique dishes. Judged by industry representatives, participants and winners are awarded with trophies and some even find their calling through apprenticeships in the hospitality industry.
HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE FRANKSTON MORNINGTON PENINSULA VCAL COOK OFF 2020
Last year, due to the COVID-19 restrictions, we were unable to host a face to face competition. Instead, students cranked up the heat at home and got creative in their own kitchens for the chance to showcase their best dish.
Congratulations to the 2020 Cook Off Winners:
Best Entree, Jaxon Fraser, Frankston High School
Best Main, Taren Kerr, Learn Engage Connect
Best Desert, Ashlin Nelson, Naranga School
