VCAL MINI GALLERY
VCAL is a ‘hands on’ option for students in Years 11 and 12.
Like VCE, VCAL is a recognized senior qualification. Unlike VCE, which is widely used by students as a pathway to university, VCAL focuses on ‘hands on learning’. Students who do the VCAL are more likely to be interested in going on to training at TAFE, doing an apprenticeship or taking up employment after completing Year 12.
In most schools in the Frankston and Mornington Peninsula areas, VCAL involves:
Three days at school
One day of industry training and
One day of work placement.
It consists of two or sometimes three separate Certificates:
Intermediate at Year 11
Senior at year 12
Foundation which is at an introductory level
VCAL Voice is an FMPLLEN student led publication with contributions from VCAL students across the FMP region. The magazine promotes the voice of our young people in increasing awareness of the VCAL program and VCAL projects in our schools.
The Peninsula VCAL Association (PVA) supports the magazine by facilitating publication, content, distribution and communication through VCAL students, stakeholders and the wider community.
